Shopping List for a Healthy Body
When trying to get fit and healthy many people aren't sure what they should be eating. As a recommendation, you should be getting your fuel
from protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats-Yes- fats! Just because you are trying to lose body fat, doesn't mean you should completely remove fat from your diet because you need some to be healthy. To help you figure out what you should be buying at the grocery store, I'll take you on an imaginary trip to the supermarket.
When you first walk in you should see all of the fresh produce, this is where you will start and some ample time. I recommend many green veggies, such as spinach, lettuce, celery, broccoli, asparagus, green peppers, and avocadoes. Also be sure to get some red veggies such as tomatoes. Now you should start looking at some fresh fruit. Fill your cart with some apples, strawberries, and oranges but if you have other fruits you enjoy please grab them. While you are still in this isle be sure to grab some sweet potatoes and small red potatoes.
Next on your trip, you should walk towards the meat section where you will pick up some fresh lean meats. Add some 93/7 or higher lean ground turkey, boneless skinless chicken breasts, and maybe a pack of 90/10 lean ground beef. Next go to the canned foods isle and get a few cans of tuna packed in water, rice, and some 0 calorie cooking spray. This should be great for in between meals. Next you should go to the dairy section and grab a dozen eggs, yogurt, and some type of milk. As you continue your rounds be sure to grab some whole wheat bread, there are many different flavors to choose from- so get creative! Get some herbs and spices so that your foods are bursting with flavor, 0 calorie sweetener to replace sugar, peanut butter and water.
Now let's head to the most stressful part of the supermarket, the register! If you are trying to get the most food for your money read this article on Eating Healthy on a Budget This should be good and easy for you to follow and get started on your new healthy lifestyle. Try this and leave some feedback on how it works for you, if you have any suggestions, and if you dislike some of the items on this list. Post in the forums and let other users read your thoughts.
